Lives Changed
Lauri, her husband and 78 year old mother went from losing their home, living in a hotel to now back in a home Lauri, her husband, and her 78 year old mother were evicted from their home after 17 years when the landlord lost his home to foreclosure. The three moved into a hotel, where they lived for 5 months, at a cost of nearly $14,000. During this time, the family sold all of their jewelry and valuable belongings to pay for their temporary housing. The high-cost of the temporary housing made it impossible for the family to save money for their new housing. With the funds available through the UCRF program, InnVision was able to help this family move to permanent housing, dramatically reducing their monthly housing expenses and stabilizing them financially.
A single mother of two was saved from being homeless.
A single mother of two faced eviction from her mobile home park. She could not pay space rent or mobile home mortgage because of high bills she paid to repair plumbing and water damage that caused the flooring to cave in. She had extended battles with her insurance company for six months regarding this incident. Meanwhile, without help, she would have been homeless. The Urgent Response Funds paid the space rent, and we used other funds to help wit the mortgage.
