Children who receive quality childcare and participate in early education are likely to succeed in school, graduate from high school and are better prepared to enter the workforce.

Because of your contributions…

United Way is investing in proven programs run by local agencies that help children and youth living throughout Santa Clara County.

We support programs that help children receive quality, early childhood care and education which can increase their chances of graduating high school, entering into a vocational program or post-secondary institution, and obtaining employment that provides financial stability.

We also invest in programs that provide youth physical, emotional, and intellectual development through adult guidance, positive values and the social skills they need to thrive.

By the Numbers:

37%:
The annual income gap ($25,900 vs. $18,900 per year) between adults with a high school diploma and those who do not have one (drop-outs).  High school graduates have a better likelihood of becoming employed, independent adults.

25%:
The percentage of 3rd graders living in high-needs areas who can read at their grade level compared to 80% of children in the same grade in the rest of the community.

Way to Help Our Kids

Support United Way by contributing to our Community Action Fund, so we can continue to have a positive impact on our local children and youth through our support of programs that provide guidance and teach skills needed to become independent adults.

That’s change.  That’s what matters.
