Non Profits
Non Profit resources and programs:
Grant Making: United Way is providing three-year grants, valued at $50,000 annually, to 36 programs run by local nonprofit agencies. The process to determine agency program funding began in February, when United Way released a request for proposals.
Awards Innovation Grants: United Way Silicon Valley has awarded Innovation Fund grants to Opportunity Fund and YMCA of Silicon Valley to support two innovative programs that will improve local lives. The grants were designed to encourage creativity and inventiveness in the nonprofit community.
Nonprofit Effectiveness Fund: The Fund is intended to help organizations learn more about gaining organizational efficiencies and support nonprofit strategic re-structuring or merger. The Silicon Valley Nonprofit Effectiveness Fund has been made possible thanks to the generosity of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Applied Materials Foundation. The Nonprofit Effectiveness Fund is closed and will not be accepting new applications until further notice. Please check back regularly for updates about the fund. If you have any questions about the fund contact Toni Ensunsa, 408-345-4382.
Emergency Assistance Network: United Way Silicon Valley, eight partner agencies, and seven law enforcement agencies have joined to create a safety net of essential services for all Santa Clara County residents. The goal is to stabilize individuals and families during times of trouble and help them return to self-sufficiency.
