Calvin K. Kazanjian
Economics Foundation Inc.

The Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation Inc. is a non-political education organization based in Connecticut that focuses on addressing the issue of economic illiteracy.
The Foundation believes that bringing economic understanding to the nation’s students takes more than classroom materials. It takes a concerted and coordinated effort of curriculum change, teacher education, evaluation, and educator recognition. The Foundation undertakes innovative and first-time projects providing the seed support for core programs that further economic literacy. Often partnering with other organizations, the Foundation likes to initiate a program in the hopes that others will follow.

Calvin K. Kazanjian started the Foundation because he firmly believed that if more people understood basic economics the world would be a better place in which to live.  In his own words, he wished to “help bring a greater happiness and prosperity to all, through a better understanding of economics.”

The Foundation supports the United Way Silicon Valley’s Income Strategy with a $15,000 grant for our Credit Coaching program. The Credit Coaching program matches trained volunteers with hard working individuals and families in Santa Clara County who are interested in improving their credit and financial management skills. Volunteer credit coaches are trained to educate individuals and families about existing free resources and to support them as they adapt the use of these resources in their everyday lives.
