Employee Campaign Manager Spotlight

Jennifer Hernandez
IBM Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs, Silicon Valley

Jennifer Hernandez has taken the campaign lead at IBM for the last seven years. She has gone above and beyond this role to provide Loaned Executives to United Way Silicon Valley, candidates for the organization's board of directors and planning committees and secured sponsorships for various United Way Silicon Valley events.

Beyond ensuring that IBM employees receive information about United Way's impact in the community, Jennifer has championed several grants for United Way Silicon Valley. Most recently, Jennifer's efforts led to nearly $155,000 to United Way Silicon Valley for programs that are improving local lives. The donation included $40,000 in funding for United Way Silicon Valley's 2-1-1 Santa Clara County information and referral service, as well as desktop computers, laptops and printers.
Jennifer believes that United Way Silicon Valley is a strong IBM partner because its work compliments IBM's philanthropic programs and helps both organizations provide solutions to many of the community's most pressing needs.

United Way Silicon Valley is truly grateful for Jennifer's support and looks forward to continuing to work together for many years to come.

Campaign Tip from Jennifer Hernandez

Get to know what areas are important to your employees and build on them.

"I do my best to give employees the information they need to make informed donation decisions. In addition, there are a variety of IBM programs available to support the volunteer work employees are doing, so it makes it so much easier to get them involved."
