United Way Silicon Valley believes everyone deserves opportunities for a good life. Education Goal by 2013: The ethical/racial achievement gap in local schools drops to 30% , from 44%.

Early Literacy Mentoring
Partnered with Grail Family Services & Alum Rock School District
Volunteer with elementary school students as a Reading Mentor once a week for 8-10 weeks. Spend classroom time with your mentees reading children's books and participating in other literacy activities that foster reading readiness.

Partnered with Breakthrough Silicon Valley
Mentor a high school student overcoming challenges in San Jose. Support their strengths and empower them to increase their confidence and boost their self-esteem while encouraging them to embrace a healthy lifestyle and being a friend. Learn more.

 

High School Tutoring
Partnered with Breakthrough Silicon Valley
Tutor high school students after school in San Jose. Support students to set them on a path to college with reading, writing, math and other subjects of your choice.
