Alternative Education Collaborative

Alternative Education Collaborative

United Way Silicon Valley is leading an effort to improve the educational options and outcomes for at-risk (for dropping-out) and out-of-school youth. The Greater San Jose Alternative Education Collaborative promotes multiple pathways to high school graduation by working to:

  • Provide more alternative classroom options
  • Make it easier for drop-outs to get back into school
  • Provide resources for parents
  • Improve teacher skills and the classroom experience

The new website GetBackToSchool.org provides information on Santa Clara County alternative schools, including charter schools. Website features include:

  • School locator by zip code
  • Resource directory with program description and type of student served
  • Links to other websites that contain useful information on alternative education
